Lover of Life, Singer of Songs

How many years you spent on life to imagine yourself being your idol's sister, brother, friends, or even.. their soulmates?☹

As a normal teenager, I also have a lot of idolsーstarted by nowadays stars to classic old stars. I love some actresses such as Jennifer Lawrence, Angelina Jolie, and Cara Delevingne. There are a lot of icons that I love and one of them is Freddie Mercury.

Freddie Mercury was born at September 5, 1946 in Tanzania and died at 45 in London. He was known for being a lead singer in Queen, one of the most famous rock band. He was born as Farrokh Bulsara and spends his childhood in India and started to take piano lessons at the age of seven. In April 1970, he joined Brian May and Roger Taylor's band called Smile. In 1971, bassist John Deacon joined the band and Mercury decided to change the band's name into Queen, which soon will be very famous.

Freddie Mercury is such a legend and his voice range extended from F2 (Bass low F) into F6 (Soprano high F). If you don't understand, it means he has four octaves of voice.  Oh, Lord. Besides having an amazing voice, Mercury also wrote some iconic songs that will not be forgotten such as Bohemian Rhapsody, Somebody To Love, Bicycle, We Are The Champion, and others. His flamboyance and exuberance personality made he even more popular.

At 70s, he met Mary Austin and had a long-term relationship with her. Later at 1985 he had a realtionship with Jim Hutton and got an HIV/AIDS test at 1986. According to Jim Hutton, Mercury was diagnosed with AIDS in April 1987. Later he was diagnosed with bronchopneumonia which is the complication of his AIDS and died at his home in Kensington, London.

Despite of his shortcomings and failures, he's such an inspiration for me. Actually, he changed my viewpoints of HIV/AIDS patients. He also inspired me to be a good singer and never gave up of my life.

In 2009, Mercury was voted Best Rock Singer of all time by Classic Rock. He was also listed at number 18 on Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Singers ever in 2009. I hope that I could be a great singer like he did.

"You can be anything you want to be, just turn yourself into anything you think that you could ever be." -Freddie Mercury
